This is the complete multiple robot surgical test platform that is used in robotic surgical research. This includes integrating needle path planning with needle driving and surgical knot tying.
The orange robot is an industrial assembly arm built by ABB that acts as a needle gripper and manipulator.
This linear XY-stage moves the thread around while it is tracked by a stereo camera pair.
Stereo camera systems including the one above are constructed and calibrated to allow the robots to track and manipulate surgical elements.
